This module utilizes the 5E lesson cycle: engage, explore, explain, elaborate, and evaluate.  It starts with a historical reference or figure and ends with a 21st century figure that has made scientific contributions. To really ignite the scholars’ passion, this module highlights young innovators from around the world that have made scientific contributions that have solved 21st century problems. Its really great to see the scholar inspired and know they too can make a positive impact on this world.

Your scholar will investigate the following topics:
Atomic structure
Elements and compounds
Salinity, pH, solutions,
Hatching brine shrimp, density
steam distillation of essential oils
Electrolysis
Electroplating
Potential & kinetic energy
Thermal energy
Electromagnetic spectrum
Sound waves- pitch frequency
Light waves- disposable camera lens distortion

Students will have a greater appreciation for and enjoy science. They will directly learn the practicality of applied sciences. They will develop the potential for creating real products. They will learn young inventors from around the world. They will discover and explore their own creativity.
